Sonic Circuits DC brought several experimental electronic artists to the Washington DC area in September 2003. The showcase at Warehouse Next Door featured Lucas Zarwell and Matt Boze (pictured left) as well as Twine, Mikroknytes and Chessie.
Boze and Zarwell whipped up a special remix of the Donnie Darko soundtrack. The guy in the background (to the right) is DJ Milo, who helped out with between-performance DJ sets.

That evening Mikroknytes released their live_src CD with a special remix performance. A recording of the show was later released on Scarcelight.

John Coursey wears the visuals well and Derek does the usual knob trickery.

Chessie is Stephen Gardner and Ben Bailes.

Stephen is a professional advocate for keeping rail transportation viable in this SUV crazed world. It makes perfect sense that his music pays homage to the romantic sound of trains careening down the track. |
